After upgrading to mavericks, Synergy no longer works

Followed these workarounds exactly, but still get the following error. Synergy worked fine before

ERROR: cannot read configuration "/var/folders/...": read error: line 38: unknown screen name in switchToScreen
synergys: no configuration available
